If there was a reading assignment,what did you learn from it? What did you not understand? What prior knowledge did you bring to the reading material?
Well today we learned about directories. A directory is different from in a search engine in that a directory works on sites put in different catogories which are hand picked. The major directory site is yahoo and most people don't even know that yahoo has a directory. Its not as popular as a search engine but it gives you less results to look through.
Actually, the biggest directory is the Open Directory Project at dmoz.org, but the Yahoo! directory is more well-known, especially to those who have been using the WWW since the early 90's when it was to then what Google is today. Yahoo! was the number one site that people used to go to back then.
